Surfers’ Environmental Alliance 2021 Summer Research Grant will provide funding for up to three projects that support SEA’s mission statement. SEA is primarily interested in projects that focus on any of the following:
- Oceanic research
- Coastal engineering
- Humanitarian causes that involve the ocean or the ocean coastlines
- Other studies that support our mission statement
Recipients of the grants will have their research project funded by SEA, as well as receive an academic scholarship. Recipients must be full-time undergraduate or graduate student at an accredited college or university for the 2021/2022 school year. The ultimate funding and scholarship amounts will be determined by SEA’s board of directors.
Please note that although SEA has not established a predetermined cap of the funding amount for any one project, SEA is primarily interested in projects that require less than $10,000 in funding, excluding any scholarship amount. However, if your proposed project does require more than $10,000 in funding, your application will still be considered. Also note that the scholarship awards may range from $1,000 to $3,500 but may ultimately be higher or lower.
Please note that SEA may choose all, none, or some of the successful applicants in any round. Only successful applicants will be notified.
