PADDLER PROFILE…Keali’i Mamala
Big wave surfer Keali’i Mamala has surfed all over the world and this year, for the first time, will brave the rivers of Manhattan to participate in the SEA Paddle NYC. He has ridden waves around the world from Hawaii to Tahiti to his famed ride in Nazaré, Portugal with partner Garrett McNamara. Always ready for the next big challenge, he will take on the New York waterways in support of our Autism and environmental beneficiaries. The Hawaiian born waterman has been surfing for most of his life and was introduced to the world of SUP by his uncle in Hawaii in the late ‘90’s. As SUP grew in popularity, so did Keali’i’s love for this new way to ride the waves. For years he has worked with Surfer’s Healing and every summer comes back East to support the kids and their families. We are proud to have him join the SEA Paddle NYC family and send a special thanks to sponsors Summa Love Surf & Yoga and Ohanala SUP & Yoga for sponsoring Keali’i.
