Scholarships for 2014-15 Academic Year

SEA is happy to announce that it will continue its scholarship program for the 2014-15 Academic year.  SEA awarded 4 scholarships last year totaling $6,500. SEA is pleased to announce the addition of the Benjamin J. Keiser memorial for Coastal Engineering of up to $3,500. Cardiff Beach Clean Up


On February 20th SEA sponsored the first in a series of local beach clean ups held at Cardiff State beach. SEA Executive Director Andrew Mencinsky organized and attended the clean up which produced approximately eight bags of trash and recycled materials which were removed from a 400-yard area of beach from the south side of the San Elijo Creek to Seaside Reef. On June 2, 2010, Hawaii Governor Linda Lingle issued Executive Order 10-07 establishing two Hawaii Surfing Reserves on the island of Oahu. The order establishes the Duke Kahanamoku Surfing Reserve (surf breaks from the Ala Wai canal to Waikiki War Memorial Natatorium) and the North Shore Reserve (waves from Ali‘i Beach Park to Sunset Beach) on O‘ahu.
