Agate Construction Dumps Debris In Deal

In Deal New Jersey at the Roosevelt  Ave. beach (shoreline) on Friday, February 19th, 2016, Agate construction, while working on the outfall at Poplar Brook, illegally dumped debris dredged from the outfall area and deposited it at the shoreline. The Army Corps of Engineers (ACOE) project manager went to the site and ordered the Agate construction crew cease all dumping activities and to move the material away from the shoreline. Representatives from the NJDEP came to the site and inspected on Monday and issued a notice of violation.  This is the first step in enforcement. Monetary penalties are not specified  but could be administered. An ACOE representative said, “THIS WILL NOT HAPPEN AGAIN.”
